Defender's D7x aluminium monocoque architecture delivers exceptional strength, with 29kNm/degree torsional rigidity, creating a body structure three times stiffer than traditional body‑on‑frame designs.

Defender underwent more than 62,000 engineering tests. Its chassis and body architecture were engineered to withstand JLR’s Extreme Event Test procedure, surpassing the standards expected of conventional SUVs.
