“I feel like I do a mini degree in a new topic every day! One day learning everything about EV fluids from chemists at Castrol, the next polymer experts at Dow on materials, and then data science with TCS.” 

“I facilitate the integration and implementation of state‑of‑the‑art technologies from the team’s official partners to enhance performance in our all‑electric race car, the Jaguar I‑TYPE 7.” 

Continuous learning, research and development allows Mairi and her colleagues to drive innovation; “We learn as much as we can to build confidence in sustainable innovations to shift left our decisions. I foster the relationships between JLR engineers, the race team and our partners with the ambition to turn them into strategic partnerships.” 

Mairi joined JLR in 2013 as an undergraduate and returned as a graduate working predominately in Vehicle Engineering, giving her the opportunity to experience working in a range of teams across JLR.  

“I’ve always enjoyed hyper‑focusing on the finer details, but also learning about the wider business which has been super helpful for my role. I appreciate the bigger picture of how a vehicle goes from planning, design and development, to testing and delivery. Understanding the full ecosystem and the challenges within it helps produce better products, saves time and makes it easy to collaborate with people from across the business.”
